Scholarship Program
A long-standing tradition, our AFOWC Scholarship Program offers scholarships for Air Force Dependents  and spouses residing in the Washington D.C. Metro Area. During the past 3 years, an average of $15,000 has been available for the AFOWC Scholarship Program. Any questions regarding scholarship can be addressed to scholarship@afowc.com

 

The Air Force Officers’ Wives Club of Washington, D.C. has scholarship applications available for high school seniors, continuing education students and non-military spouses who are dependents of United States Air Force members (active duty, retired, POW/MIA or deceased, officer or enlisted) residing in the Washington Metro Area. 

 

Applicants will be judged on both academic and citizenship achievements.  Judges will not consider financial need in their selections.

Thrift Shop

*Thrift Shop will be closed the following dates:

·         Friday, June 26

·         Friday, July 3

·         August 1- September 1

 

Located on Bolling AFB, Building #13 on Brookley Ave, the Thrift Shop provides an outlet to sell items, on consignment, and offers bargains on clothing, furniture, toys, etc. The Thrift Shop is an enjoyable place to shop and volunteer! Hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10:00 - 2:00 p.m. For more information contact our Thrift Shop Chairman, Angie Jarreau at  thriftshop@afowc.com or the Thrift Shop 202-563-6666. Proceeds go to the AFOWC Welfare Budget. Donations are always welcomed during open store hours only. To consign items at the Thrift Shop, please download the pdf files below.

 

 Consignments are only accepted Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from

10:00am - 12:00pm.

 

Last day for consignments in the summer is June 24, 2009 until September 2, 2009.

 

Items currently NOT being accepted for consignments:

ü  Computer monitors & cables

ü   Winter clothing

ü  Car and Booster seats

ü   Large Stuffed animals

ü  Baskets

ü  Mugs

ü  Toys for children 12 & under

ü  Chidren’s jewelry

ü  Shoes

 

 For furniture you need to call and verify if the store has space available.

 New and old customers, as well as anyone interested in volunteering, donating or consigning items, are invited to drop by during operations each Mon-Wed-Fri from 10am-2pm.
