INTERNATIONAL SPOUSES
On behalf of the Air Force Officers’ Wives Club of Washington, DC, Welcome to Washington DC! We hope your stay in America will be a memorable experience for you and your family. For those of you returning, welcome back. My name is Sue Brown. I am the Chairman of the International Wives Liaison Committee, I serve as your liaison to the AFOWC. Our club is the oldest Officers’ Wives Club in the Air Force. We hope you will join our organization. We usually meet the 3rd Tuesday, September-May, at Bolling Officers’ Club on Bolling AFB.
The AFOWC offers you opportunities to experience many American activities, and more importantly to become friends with us who share so much in common with you. We too move often, relocate our children to new schools, find new medical professionals, learn to shop, make a new house into a home, and meet new friends in an unfamiliar places. We hope we can help make your tour more enjoyable and your stay in America rewarding and memorable experiences.
Our monthly luncheons and special programs usually consist of a guest speaker, musical entertainment, fashion shows, a very entertaining Bingo (with great prizes) and many other programs and demonstrations of interest to all. We also offer special groups such as cooking club, zip codes lunch groups, tours, mah jongg, and any number of other activities. Come and see what fun activities we have for you! For all our monthly meetings, reservations and/or cancellations are required by the Wednesday prior to the event. Cash payments may be made in person at your first event. Unfortunately we are unable to accept credit cards. You receive a monthly newsletter called the PROTOCALL as well as email reminders of upcoming AFOWC events.
